If you own a flex fuel vehicle, otherwise known as an FFV, you can use any blend of gasoline and ethanol from 0 percent to 85 percent (E85). E85 is 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline.
If you are unsure if you own an FFV, look for these badges: a yellow gas cap or ring, or E85 listed on the inside of your fuel filler door. You can also use our FFV identifier to look at your vehicle’s make and model to determine if you own an FFV.
You can locate where E85 is sold using our station locator at E85prices.com or on the E85prices.com mobile app.
E85 has been in the marketplace for nearly three decades. E85 is ~98 octane and reduces emissions more than 30 percent over traditional gasoline. E85 is also defined as an alternative fuel.
There are now more than 22 million FFVs on the road today, roughly 8 percent of all vehicles, representing more vehicles than require premium today.
